The Higher Education Commission (HEC), through the Education Testing Council (ETC), is set to conduct the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) to determine eligibility for all HEC scholarships and admissions in MS/MPhil & PhD programs.
Who can Apply for Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT)?
The HAT is designed for applicants who:
- Have applied online for any MS/MPhil & PhD admission or HEC scholarship (Hungary, etc.).
- Intend to apply for future scholarship schemes, including those offered by HEC-sponsored Pakistani Universities.
- Are interested in securing admission in MS/MPhil & PhD programs in public and private universities of Pakistan.
The test will be conducted in five categories based on 16 years/equivalent education. Applicants should register for the test accordingly:

- The test score will be valid for 2 years (for scholarships and admissions in MS/MPhil & PhD programs).
- Date of Examination: The test will tentatively be held on January 28th, 2023. Any changes in the test date will be communicated through www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk.

- Only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for HAT Test; applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.
- The test fee of Rs. 2000/- is to be deposited via participating Banks/ATMs/Internet Banking/Mobile Banking/Easypaisa/JazzCash/Upaisa.
