Job Description: JPCL is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, dynamic, and vibrant candidate for the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). As the COO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic and business plans to advance the company’s mission and objectives. You will oversee the operation and maintenance of the power plant, ensure corporate planning, improve financial health and control, and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic and business plans to advance the company’s mission and objectives.
Supervise the operation and maintenance of the power plant, ensuring efficient and reliable performance.
Ensure effective corporate planning and better corporate management practices.
Foster industrial peace and maintain a harmonious working environment.
Improve the company’s financial health and exercise financial control.
Advocate for the company’s business interests at all levels and engage with stakeholders, including the Board of Directors (BOD), managing agent, and shareholders.
Demonstrate operational and maintenance ability of large power generation plants.
Display vibrant leadership skills, change management experience, and team-building capabilities.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Encourage a culture of creativity and a sense of accomplishment among team members.
Utilize best administrative practices to ensure an efficient operating organization.
Stay updated with the economic, social, legislative, and political environment in the power generation sector.
Have a comprehensive understanding of legislative matters, community relationships, and corporate social responsibility in the context of the company’s growth.

Qualifications, Experience & Age:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mechatronics) and registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Financial literacy with proven credentials.
Minimum of 20 years of overall experience, including 10 years in the Power Generation Sector, with at least 5 years in senior management positions.
Additional qualification such as a Masters in Engineering/MBA from a reputable institute is preferred.
Must comply with the ‘Fit and Proper Criteria’ as mentioned in the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance & Operations) Act 2023.
Maximum age of 62 years as of the last date of application

Tenure, Remuneration Package & Conditions:

The position is on a contract basis for a period of three (03) years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and needs.
Remuneration package will be negotiable and market-based, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
